The Warrantee

We try to ship out as soon as your orders arrive.   However there are lots of reasons why it might not happen right away.  Orders in by Saturday will hopefully ship in the following week.  If it is longer than a week, we will email you with information about your order fulfillment delay..

Your fish will be express mailed in special packaging described here. Someone from our staff will email you as soon as your package ships, with tracking information.

Warrantee

We need you to be available to accept and sign for your fish!  This cannot be emphasized more!!!

We understand that everyone is busy and we try to give you a bit of leniency here.  However, if you do not accept the package within 8 hours of the actual delivery time, you will loose your warrantee.  We figure that if you are not present at the delivery time, this allows you to go to the delivery depot to pick it up later that day. Any longer will jeopardize the health of your fish.

We guarantee the number of fish that you ordered and will usually add a few extra in your package to make up for any particular fish that does not make it.   So, count the total fish, rather than any that has expired during transportation.

When your package arrives, please examine it and make sure the delivery agent documents any damages, leaking or anything you would consider an issue, that might affect your fish’s delivery experience.  Please take a picture of the unopened box, even if all seem ok.

As soon as you open the box, carefully remove the packing material.  We pack it pretty tight to avoid temperature change during shipping.  To document any issues, that cannot be seen from the outside, we ask that you take a picture of the opened box and the bags right after you actually open the box.  Please do this within 5 minutes of each other.  Lay the bag(s) on a white piece of paper when taking the picture.  Failure to do so MAY void your warrantee, as we may not be able to determine fault otherwise.

Open the bag and promptly place it in your tank.

Sometimes some of  your fish may seem dead, but they are only in shock from their long trek.  if you see no movement within 15 minutes, please take a picture of any that did not make it and put them in the freezer and email us right away.  I will email you instructions as to what to do next.

Please follow all of the suggested ways of integrating your fish into your system. There is a lot of information on the web about how to do this, in addition to what is on this site.  If you are unsure of what needs to be done, please research this while you are waiting for your fish to arrive.   We cannot be responsible if you do not introduce your new fish correctly or your water quality does not support a healthy fish environment.

We will replace the fish that do not survive the trip free of charge. How many times we will do this, will depend on each individual circumstance.  Each issue is evaluated on its own and we may hold you responsible for shipping.

You can only hold Aquaponics on the Hill and AquaponicsOnTheHill.com responsible for the original amount you originally paid for your fish minus shipping costs.

We want you to be happy and will do everything, within our power, to make you happy fish owners.   We understand how important your money is to you and your family.  Minimizing your expenses are part of that customer experience.  So please be patient and communicate with us, to make your fish buying experience a positive one.  Take a lot of pictures to document any issue you may have!  We want to be as fair as possible, but we need proof.  Pictures are the best way you have to help you make your case.

Under some circumstances, Aquaponics on the Hill and AquaponicsOnTheHill.com may choose to give you a refund instead of replacement.  This could be for many different reasons, including lack of stock on our end, or the transport chain from our hatchery to your destinations cannot guarantee prompt and safe delivery.
